Taiwan's first contemporary art museum is housed in a brick former school built in the early 1900s.via Google

Located in a historic, red-brick elementary school building from the Japanese colonial era, it hosts provocative, cutting-edge exhibitions.

Good to know
An easy walk from Zhongshan MRT Station; features a great design shop on the ground floor.

Housed in a former schoolhouse, which contrasted with the experimental nature of the exhibitions there. Whereas with some art pieces one can tell what they're ”about" at first glance, I feel that the pieces here ask you to spend at least a minute taking them in, partly because there was a concentration of dynamic pieces when I visited. The space isn't very big, but if you spend at least a few minutes drinking in each spectacle, you can expect a couple of highly intriguing hours here.

A cute rainy day activity. The exhibits were mostly interactive or stuff you could walk around/through. Which made it more fun. I also went to the fine arts museum and I enjoyed this contemporary art museum much more! It’s not too busy, so the small interactive exhibits did not feel crowded and I was able to enjoy them more. I colored a bird and got to put it on the wall as part of the exhibit, and they also had a “fake news” sushi art interactive exhibit which was fun ! I appreciated the English translations available for each display. The fine arts museum did not have as extensive of translation options available, so I couldn’t read into each display as much. Overall, would recommend regardless of a sunny or rainy day.

It consist of 2 levels. But do remember to purchase the ticket at the entrance TWD 100 and deposit your bag in the locker for TWD 10. Then you can proceed with your visit. There is an interactive room for you to contribute your creativity of your ideal bird.

A small museum with interesting installations about the environment and the men made influences, employees in harmful factories by the main hi tech companies, and just a simple but sophisticated and smart interpretation of a song. (The dark room, go around where the light goes.) The "hand" that you in the photos, is nothing compared to the feeling and the experience being in that room. It was one of the best exhibition-tech-meaning-installation I've been to. I stayed in that room for almost an hour, and I can't even describe it in words without spoilering. Just go there!!! Also, every installment has a QR code to scan for a short audio explanation.

I got bored pretty quickly. Esp didn’t care for the audio narrations with subtitles. The only parts I like were the sculptures of human skeleton and the whale bone looking thing. The rest of the exhibition was just weird/bland.
