A beautiful landmark with stunning architecture!! There are so many people coming here to take photos. I originally thought it was just a landmark, but I was surprised to find cafe inside, along with shops selling unique items.
Located in the heart of Ximending, The Red House is one of Taipei’s most charming cultural landmarks. The building itself is beautiful, with its distinctive octagonal shape and red-brick exterior that really stands out against the modern surroundings. It has a nostalgic, historic feel, and you can tell it has been well preserved. Inside, you’ll often find small exhibitions, creative shops, and local artisan goods that reflect Taiwan’s arts and culture scene. What makes The Red House especially lively is the area around it. The surrounding courtyard is filled with bars, cafés, and boutique stores, making it a great place to hang out in the evening. Whether you’re there to explore the history, browse unique handmade items, or just relax with a drink nearby, The Red House offers a nice break from the busy shopping streets of Ximending. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
4/5 The Red Brick House This is such a cool spot, especially for tourists or maybe even locals again what I love about Taipei is that they have these old historical places that they don't tear down they just make them into shopping spots just like the red brick house. There's also shopping spots outside, especially during the weekend, but when it is the daytime, you can come into the red brick house and enjoy the many different trinkets, accessories, clothing, and other cute shopping things that are memories of Taipei. They also have a coffee shop there or you can grab a drink and sit down. I think it would be nice. It's a few more sitting areas because definitely it can get full and as a tourist you can get very tired. There's also stamps available so if you'd like to collect stamps, do get your stamps here, especially by the coffee shop. They have like three stamps, and then another stamp near the area. There's a second floor as well, but honestly, the second floor is kind of mid because there's not much there the first floor is really where it's at. I do feel like there could be more shops and more things to see but overall, it is definitely a place to stop by.
Ximending Red House is one of the most iconic landmarks in the area. The red brick building is beautiful and full of history, making it a great place for photos. You can explore the creative shops inside and enjoy the lively atmosphere around the square. It is a nice place to visit and experience the charm of Taipei.
Historical building that operates as a venue and also has many little shops. I liked that some of the shops featured local artists and artwork. Watched the lunar new year dragon dance here.
