Uses sound and light effects to recreate the 2011 underwater eruption of the Tagoro volcano just offshore, the clearest way to understand why this island has more craters than almost anywhere else on earth.

Nice and helpful very informative beautiful landscape never knew about the eruption in el hierro before this.
Great place to visit! Lots of interesting information about the formation of El Hierro. And also about the famous eruption in 2011. Movie, displays, etc. Worth a visit. Will only take 45 minutes. Friendly host who speaks English very well.
Very informative information center that gives a good understanding of life cycle of all the Canary islands. In the second building you get to see a very nice short dramatic movie on the impressive last under water 2011–12 El Hierro eruption. The two buildings are separated by a short outside track through a nice sample of real life volcanic effects but this is not sheltered (so no luck when it rains)
Such an interesting visit, but read the big board before going in, that way the quiz half way round will make more sense! Also, buy the 'passport' from.tourist information it's good value
A wonderful place! Learned a lot about the submarine eruption at the Mar de las Calmas. The video installation was very impressive. Also the gentleman at the info offered super interesting insights, muchísimas gracias 🙏🙏 It really shows when someone is skilled and passionate about their work.
