I am a huge fan of Doctor Who which is why I paid the $20 student fee to enter this museum. The exhibits are so cool. Every doctor consume that you see here was used in some way on screen. It was super fun to walk through and see all the characters from my childhood show come to life. It was very nostalgic in a good way. The Face of Boe, the weeping angels, the Daleks and the Cybermen were some of the things that stood out to me the most. Definitely do the scavenger hunt! You can win a poster or a lanyard if you complete it! They were also showcasing comic strips and luche libre on the bottom and top floors. If you ever watched Doctor Who as a kid and loved it, I highly recommend visiting before this exhibit is gone. It really was a cool and nostalgic experience. Took us about 1.5-2 hours to get through the entire museum!
Short Review: save your money and go do anything else. Price: 4 adults with two having student discounts cost $100 Bit Longer Review: Should be called the Dr. Who museum as that is the main and only interesting portion of the building. There are three floors in total two visit. The main floor is the entire Doctor Who exhibit including set pieces used from the TV show. That took maybe about 20 minutes of walking through and looking longer if you’re truly interested in reading everything. The top floor was reserved. Mostly to Mexican Wrestling icons and their costumes. Very little detail other than names and places so there’s not much to actually learn and it’s also not really comic con related to my knowledge I could be wrong. The bottom floor had two main portions. Majority of the floor was reserved for Tokidoki related material. Then there was an area that had costumes from movie sets and cosplay costumes created by original designers. While the costumes were called, look at there was nothing really famous or interesting The cosplay created costumes were more interesting, but then only because they had been created by another person and not a pro. There was a theater showing an episode of Doctor Who that you could sit down and watch, but we weren’t. Being billed as a comic con museum, there seemed to be an implied idea that all sorts of artifacts and pieces that have come from the decades of San Diego comic con would be on displayed but you would be wrong. There really isn’t a reason to go here. Even the gift shop is lacking horribly bad. More option in a Walmart toy isle. Best Part: The employees were super friendly and able to answer questions with ease. The place is lucky to have them. Final Thoughts: Believe me or not. It’s your money and time. I was here on 12-27-25
The Comic Con Museum is a museum focused on showcasing pop culture iconic franchises that have all appeared throughout the history of Comic Con. At $30 a ticket, the price is a little steep. There was only 4 main exhibits here, and they were pretty underwhelming. I'm not a Dr. Who fan, so it makes sense I wouldn't find it appealing, but there wasn't much else to do because of the limited exhibits. I'd take my money and go elsewhere if you want a comprehensive museum experience, but it can be fun if you're a fan of things currently on exhibit.
The Comic-Con Museum in San Diego is an absolute delight for anyone who loves comics, movies, superheroes, gaming, or pop culture. The moment you step in, you can feel the creativity and excitement that Comic-Con is known for. The exhibits are beautifully curated, interactive, and full of nostalgia — from iconic characters to behind-the-scenes artwork and rare collectibles. The rotating exhibits ensure there’s always something new to explore. I loved how immersive everything felt — it’s not just a museum, it’s an experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. The whole place is family-friendly, and even non-fans will find something fascinating. Whether you’re a longtime Comic-Con fan or just someone looking for a fun and inspiring place to visit in San Diego, the Comic-Con Museum is absolutely worth it. A perfect blend of entertainment, art, and imagination! Highly recommended! 🎉🦸♂️📚
My husband and I went on Sunday early afternoon and it wasn’t busy. It was our first time visiting during the “Big Exchange”. This museum has interesting displays and excellent for kids.
