Had a great experience at Ironside. We started with the oysters, which were fresh and flavorful, and the lobster roll was excellent with lobster and perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed a few drinks that were well made and complemented the meal nicely. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. If you’re looking for great seafood, quality cocktails, and top-notch service, Ironside is definitely worth a visit.
The food was absolutely delicious. The lobster roll was the best I’ve had and the oysters were nice and fresh and so were the other dishes. However what takes the cherry on the cake were the banana pudding and it was to die for. Easily best banana pudding I’ve had and our server was kind and nice enough to do our table side banana pudding. We sat outside which was still pretty relaxing and chill. I would definitely come back here to try more things! The Empire Approves.
We stopped by Ironside Fish & Oyster for lunch today, and everything was outstanding. We ordered the lobster roll, clams, and oysters, and every dish was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The lobster roll was probably the best I’ve had in the area. I’m usually not a big oyster fan, but I decided to give them another try, and they were absolutely perfect. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. The service was fast, smooth, and really made the whole experience enjoyable. Overall, a 10/10 experience. Great food, great service, and definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend!
Had a great experience here. The lobster roll was excellent, perfectly balanced, and really well done without being heavy. The clam chowder was just as good, rich and comforting, with great flavor and texture. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, and the atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. The vibe was fun, lively, and welcoming, which really added to the experience. Jacob, our server, was friendly, attentive and genuinely made us feel taken care of without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they care about quality and consistency, not just presentation. A really solid meal overall and definitely a spot I’d come back to.
We are in San Diego for a week and went to Ironside for a birthday dinner. The birthday girl has been to Ironside before and chose to return. We were blown away with the entire experience. We are a party of 2 and chose to sit at the counter by the chefs. It did not disappoint! Our server was Lucy and she was absolutely awesome! Great suggestions, attentive and super fun. We started with a dozen oysters (6 Kumiai, 6 Barcat). They were so good. The housemade horseradish was excellent. Next we shared a bowl of clam chowder. I highly recommend it. Perfect flavor! Next up was the octopus. I have had octopus in the past and didn't love it, so I was hesitant. This was prepared perfectly and was delicious. Easily the best I've had. The final entree was a whole Maine lobster. Served with clarified butter and bernaise. It was out of this world! We received a complimentary Lemon Curd for the birthday girl and it was light, refreshing and wonderful. Sitting at the counter was so fun. We were able to talk to the chefs and give them instant feedback, which they asked us for. If you're ever in San Diego, check this place out. Highly recommend!
