Point Loma Seafoods is hands down my favorite seafood restaurant in San Diego! Every time I travel to San Diego, meeting up here with family and friends is an absolute must. It’s become our tradition and something we all look forward to. The food is always fresh and delicious. The salmon tacos are incredible — perfectly seasoned and so fresh — and the clam chowder is some of the best I’ve ever had. The fish and chips are also a standout, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere is unbeatable. The upper patio offers beautiful views of the bay, making it the perfect spot to relax, enjoy great conversation, and soak in that classic San Diego waterfront vibe. Between the fresh seafood, laid-back atmosphere, and gorgeous views, Point Loma Seafoods never disappoints. Highly recommend!

My first time here, we ate outside so the lil pigeons and birds were all over the tables. I know there is no control over that but try to get an inside table. Ordered the shrimp basket with coleslaw and we had a shrimp cocktail. Since it was my first time here I didn’t know what I was getting, well the pic is attached. Over priced for what we got and the shrimp cocktail was pathetic looking. I was so bummed, i guess I figured since it was Point Loma I expected better. I ended up at the grocery store that evening to get shrimp from the seafood counter along with some cocktail sauce and made my own shrimp cocktail.** I needed a re-do since I was not satisfied. Don’t get me wrong, it was decent but not worth it! I can honestly say I won’t be back. Ohhh and the parking is insane! Small lot so we did park a few blocks away!

I hadn’t been to Point Loma Seafood for many years. Now that I’m here, so disappointed with the food. It indeed was the best seafood & chowder in San Diego. The restaurant looks the same, has very friendly people working there and still has large crowds. Personally for me, they need new cooks. My chowder was runny and had limited taste. The celery was uncooked, potatoes unseasoned. No creamy thickness at all. Clams were not cleaned well as I had many crunchy pieces of something. I also ordered the crab cake sandwich. You can see by the picture that’s not what I was given. 4 crab cakes, 2 which were almost burnt, French fries lukewarm, coleslaw with no seasoning and I couldn’t figure out the dressing. Ate the 2 that weren’t nearly burned. They weren’t bad except less than 1/2” thick and too chopped. No chunky pieces of crab. The tartar sauce was the only bright star. The majority of my $25 meal ended up in the trash. Not going back. Maybe I’ll give it another 12 years, but not likely. As I said, really disappointed.

We came here at 5 pm on a Sunday evening in December. The place wasn't too busy, about half full inside and no one on the outside. So parking was pretty easy and lots of spots. Tons of food and drink to order. We ended up ordering the Fish Sandwich (lightly breaded Alaskan Cod), the Shrimp Plate (Breaded from Sea of Cortez), Rainbow Roll (California Roll topped with Avocado, Hamachi Yelllowtail, Magure Ahi Tuna, Salmon and Boiled Mexican Shrimp, Salmon Sashimi, Fish Taquitos (Fried Alaskan Cod with Green Peppers) and Onion Rings. Anything breaded here is insanely good! Would recommend the breaded shrimp, onion rings and fries! As for the sushi and sashimi, I would recommend getting this at another place. Overall nice employees, really good fried seafood and quite a large place.

Why is everyone raving about the fried scallop sandwich? It's a big slop of their tartar sauce with limp fried scallops on a soft bread. The texture of it was greasy mush. There was so much tartar sauce on it that it made it way too salty and overpowered the scallop flavor. There definitely needs other toppings in there to balance out the textures. Onions maybe or the slaw. The fish and chips plate can be described with one word: limp. The crust on the fish was soft and the fries were limp. Did they set the temperature of their fryer to room temp? MAKE IT CRISPY PLEASE just begging for texture here. They bay shrimp cocktail was meh. The tuna sashimi was low grade.
