Pros: The location is wonderful on the harbor. The rooms stayed in had a lovely bay view and beds were comfortable. Cons: The bathroom was dirty, with a hair on the sink and the bottom of the bathtub stained black and mold in corners. Received a 8:55am phone call about maintenance for exterior windows, while we were still asleep with “do not disturb” hung on the door. I would rate this hotel 3-4 stars, nowhere near a 5 star hotel. Parking is pricey and in a public, open lot across from the hotel.
Good hotel although I would rate it a good 4*. We had dinner in the bar each night and the staff were excellent. Food was good. Draught cider off all 3 days we were there so not great. Pool times for kids is very disappointing especially as they are guests in the hotel (only 2 hours in the morning 7-9 I think and only 2 in the afternoon 4-6). Nice area and overall a good experience.
We have not stayed here for a while so wasn’t sure how it would be however it always seems to have a good reputation, We were not disappointed and it exceeded expectations. The room was excellent very well equipped with all we needed and great views over the Bay Area. The bar and restaurant were to a high standard (we did not dine there) and breakfast was outstanding in choice, freshness and quality. Did not have time to use the Spa but visited and looks fabulous. Cannot praise the staff enough as everyone was welcoming, cheerful, friendly and helpful. I had a telephone call the day before arrival to check if we needed helpe with anything so all spot on. A very well run hotel! Thanks for a great stay.
We stayed here for my son’s birthday and as a treat I booked a suite. The room space was lovely but the bathroom was dated and required some attention. The walk in shower leaked all over the floor. I booked a room that slept 3 people but upon arrival it only had a king bed so for anyone else it would need a ‘camp’ style bed bringing to the room. So for my two kids I was offered two of these beds which I took up. However, it meant the living space was taken up by these beds and made it feel like we were slumming it and considering I’d booked a very pricey suite for the occasion I was disappointed with this. My kids were given complimentary access to the kids club due to my son’s birthday and it was appreciated however the card didn’t work on day two despite renewing it. The mini bar was only stocked on day one and would cost £20 to restock which again, given the price of the room seemed excessive. The room cleaning on day two could have been better as the carpet needed hoovering but this wasn’t done. I wouldn’t say this was value for money for a suite. The view from the room and balcony was great but the room itself was a let down with the ‘camping’ beds for my kids and the tired bathroom with a shower screen that leaked all over the floor. Hotel bar and staff were lovely. As were the Welsh cakes on arrival! The parking is also very overpriced on top of an expensive room.
Booked the spa for some relaxation with my best friend and we both had an amazing time! I had a Detox Foot Wrap and Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage with Holly and it was wonderful! Felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout the treatments, and Holly applied just the right amount of pressure during the massage that left my back feeling lighter. Afterwards, we enjoyed using the facilities including a pool, sauna, lazy river and jacuzzi. Was just what we needed after our treatments! To finish, we enjoyed a two course lunch at the restaurant that looked and tasted amazing. We had a window seat and the view was incredible! Definitely looking to book another spa day experience here soon!
