We had a wonderful stay at Fairmont Grand Del Mar with our family. There was a slight hiccup upon arrival, but Michelle from the Concierge team went above and beyond to make things right. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care were greatly appreciated and turned the situation into a positive experience. The resort itself is beautiful, and the family-friendly amenities were outstanding. We especially enjoyed the pools and the overall atmosphere, which made traveling with young children both easy and enjoyable. From the exceptional service to the wonderful amenities, our family had a memorable stay, and we look forward to returning in the future.
Our stay was unforgettable— I’m already planning our return trip! If you can, book a poolside room. Opening the doors and stepping out to the courtyard elevates the whole stay. For a special occasion, book the high tea in advance and you may be be lucky enough to get serenaded by the pianist. Kara listened really well to us and tailored our tea experience, kudos to her. Joel managed to bring by a couple of our favorite tea bags before our departure, talk about making special happen. SPEND YOUR TIME ON THE PROPERTY, sunbathe by the spa or overlooking the golf area, go to the Preserve shop, walk the grounds, have the best dinner right there on site. There is something special going on there everyday, lots to try. What truly sets the place apart are the people. Evelyn greeted us at the pool, Rustin not only recommended a whole plan for us, but his little hand motion when saying “thank you” was such a special touch. Shea, Carlos and Andrea were great to meet, all so gracious. Ignacio was a familiar face as well as our favorite, Nadia she made us feel taken care of in the most special way. Victoria and Maria Rosales kept the room tidy, and really the entire team was incredible. Considering the craziness going on in the world, the Del Mar feels like an escape to an oasis. Don’t overbook your schedule. Just arrive, settle in, and let the property (and the people) take care of the rest. A special thank you to Nenad.
This place is beyond fantastic! Greeted as we pulled up, friendly, courteous, helpful and accommodating; the person who checked us in escorted us to the elevator and told us how to find our room. We walked in and were so pleased. We are traveling with our beloved dog, and we are just steps away from grass, just beyond our little patio with a fire pit. I could go on, but pictures are worth more.
Everything from Valet at arrival to check out was fantastic! Andrew the bellman was amazing, the spa was incredible, Zilla our massage therapist got us in all the places that needed working on. The highlight meal was at Amaya! Service was impeccable and the food was literally outstanding!! Andrea our server took excellent care of us! 10 out of 10 all around!
I rarely post reviews, but had to post because this place is so awesome. Gorgeous scenery. The attention to details in design and amenities is top notch. We had two small children and the resort felt family friendly despite being high end. Kids eat free in the man restaurant which was a thoughtful touch. The staff are friendly and helpful. The spa was one of my favorite for a great facial and relaxing setting. We hope to return!
