Fantastic location, just a few steps from the main train station which is perfect with luggage. The hostel isn't cheap (Taiwan prices) but it is super clean and comfortable. You must remove out door shows at reception and proceed with slippers inside. We had a private room and dorms are available. Our room was extremely clean and the bed, pillows and linen amazing! Bathroom and toilet, again super clean and modern. There is an excellent breakfast available, with vegetarian option on request. The hostel environment is calming and everyone was respectful of privacy and the common area was always quiet. Staff helpful, they organise group hikes, perfect for solo travellers. Washing machine and dryers available (coin operated). Would definitely stay again.

Star Hostel is a great hostel with amazing amenities. The location is perfect, easy to get anywhere & explore the city by foot or public transportation. The rooms are clean and quiet, the service is kind and helpful. The brekkie is fantastic and changes every day. All in all a really great experience in Star Hostel.

Its a shop houses top floor converted to hostel function. Well thought designs, modern clean quite minimalist like japanese feel. The room & communal space design suitable for young people. Even have gathering activities. Such a good idea. A nice place to stay when u visit Taipei for young people. They have dorm room and single room like hotel room type too. All amenities are available.

Such a great place to stay! Hands-down the best service I've received from such a budget-friendly hostel. The front desk goes out of their way to accommodate you, whether it be room changes, lost items, or services after checkout including luggage keeping and an extra shower before heading to the airport. The included breakfast is well-prepared, and there's no question why they'd been fully booked during my week's stay here. Rooms are also clean and well-maintained, available washing machine/dryer is also clean. Location is prime, as it's only a 3 minute walk to the main station where you can take the red and blue line - 24-hour convenience store is right outside the door as well. I'd recommend this hostel to any friends or family travelling to Taipei, and I'd also be glad to stay here for all my future travels! To the team: you guys were a big part of making my first trip to Taipei lovely and memorable, thank you all very much, and you'll certainly see me again!!

Stayed in the hotel last march 18-20. At first me and my boyfriend were hesitant and have low expectations in this hostel since it’s cheap for its prime location. Even though the lobby in 4th is small, the receptionists are very efficient so there are no long lines for checkin. Upon checking in they gave me a birthday gift which was a laundry bag (very thoughtful of them even though i didnt mention that it was my birthday). They have house rules which are slightly stricter than being in a 4/5 star hotel but i do understand these rules are to maintain orderliness and cleanliness in the property. Breakfast is 💯 as well! Thank you so much Star Hostel, looking forward to staying again with you soon!
